Facebook is a social media platform and a social networking service based in Menlo Park, California. It was launched on February 4, 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg and his fellow college mate Eduardo Saverin. Initially, it was limited to the students of Harvard, but gradually expanded to other colleges in Boston area.
