Anybody does not own internet, but various organizations are accountable to control the structure of the Internet and how it works, but they are not the owners. Each country has telecom companies also called ISP or Internet service providers. In India Reliance, Airtel and Tata are the giant telecom companies who are heading the bandwagon of Internet transformation in India. Reliance Jio recently announced that it would be linking India to 100gbps undersea cable and expand India’s Internet. The submarine cable is said to extend from Marseille in Europe (France) to Hong Kong, with landing point all across Asia and Europe. Reliance is not the owner, but it is working towards creating a much better infrastructure for the Internet in India.
